On the first of August, 2019, in the United States of America, the stronghold of democracy, Governor Samuel Ortom accompanied by the First Lady, Dr. Mrs Eunice Ortom took the Benue Agenda to the international scene.
Governor Ortom was a guest at the 27th Annual National Convention of the Mutual Union of Tiv in America, MUTA in Hanover, Maryland, USA. Also, a day after the MUTA Convention, Governor Ortom also graced the Annual Convention of the Idoma Association in New York.
The Benue State Governor, always ready to partner with individuals and organisations with passion for Benue developmental issues, used the august occasions to suggest his own contributions and to also appreciate the two eminent Tiv and Idoma socio-cultural organisations based in America and Canada.
Governor Ortom based on his ‘Benue First’ mantra suggested to the two Benue organizations to explore ways of harmonizing their various socio-cultural organisations into a united Benue Forum to discuss and advance the Benue Agenda. 

That is after the two associations must have finish deliberations on their respective organisations. This he observed has become necessary giving the influential roles The Mutual Union of Tiv in America and the Idoma Association are playing as regards to the political, social-cultural and economic developments of the ethnic groups they represent within the Benue family.
Governor Ortom, a leader who is always excited whenever he finds himself in an assembly of politicians, traditional rulers, technocrats and resource persons with peace and development issues on the spotlight. He used the occasion to appreciate the interest demonstrated by the MUTA and Idoma Associations on happenings back home especially in Benue in the area of security, economy and the herdsmen/farmers conflicts.

 He particularly acknowledged and appreciated the two renowned Tiv and Idoma associations on their stand on the herdsmen crisis,
