Thanksgiving provides an opportunity for someone to engage others in a very intentional way.
It is a time of prayer and giving thanks for all good fortune in one's life to share grace.

Grace itself is God's unmerited favour. It is goodness toward those who has no claim or no reason to expect divine favour but the principal manifestation of God's grace in form of gift.

So Sunday 11th August 2019 will not go unnoticed as Benue Women In Prayer BEWIP,the women prayer group put together by the First Lady Of Benue State Eunice Ortom Ph.D,the convener of BEWIP rolled out drums to mark the 4th Anniversary Convocation of her vision and [email protected] 48th Edition of the programme held @the Chapel Of Grace,Benue Peoples House Makurdi.

It was a time to share grace and the First Lady empowered 47 Widows with Cash, foodstuff and wrappers to mark the event.

Hundreds of Women from within and outside Makurdi, the state capital turned out to witness the event which had in attendance, wives of Assembly members,Wives of Commissioners,Female Chairmen of Local Government Councils, and Commissioner for Women Affairs Mrs Atoato Igirgi.
Also in attendance was General Manager BERWASA Mrs Torkwase Ikyaator.

As it is customary with Dr.Mrs Ortom on such occasions,47 widows including some dedicated women went home with Cash, wrappers and bags of rice.

Also included in the August gift to mark a similar event in the last 4yrs were other attendees who also went home with bags of rice and wrappers.

Mrs Ortom had this to say to the widows...
"This is a sign of my love and concern for you.
There are challenges that go with you as breadwinners after losing your husband's.But I want to let you know that God's reward is permanent.
We believe his words.
Although it is not much, but the little we have given will help you move on with your lives".

She prayed God to bless them and give them the heart to use their skills to multiply what they received.

The first lady pointed out that the beneficiaries were chosen devoid of tribe and denomination adding that the prayer group was operating with one spirit embedded in the body of Christ.

While urging women to always focus on the word of God to overcome their trails and tribulations,Mrs Ortom charged the women to remember that their ministry is always to ensure that their family life is not lost.

The first Lady thanked the women for relentlessly and strategically standing for kingdom matters.

"4years now of getting together to pray and seek God's mercy and blessings for the land as a family and state has been wonderful..despite battles, struggles and challenges".

There was the cutting of the 4th Anniversary cake to mark the occasion.
