FRANTIC EFFORTS ARE UNDERWAY TO CLEAR SALARY ARREARS - ORTOM

Governor Samuel Ortom today assured Benue workers that arrears owed them will soon be cleared.

The Governor gave the assurance today while declaring open a 3 day workshop on "Ethics and Attitudinal Change for Effective Service Delivery in the Local Government Service" organised by the Institute of Political Administration And Management in Collaboration with the Local Government Service Commission.

Represented by his Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief Titus Zam appreciated the teaming Benue workers for their patience and stated that government was going to continue to give priority to the welfare of its workers.

He also hinted that the consistent payment of salary since the begining of this year was made possible as a result of the improvement in the federation allocation account, stating that the development has further shown the sincerity of the Ortom administration in fulfilling its promises to the people of the state.

In his remarks, the Chairman Local Government Service Commission, Prof. John H. Ortyoyande, urged participants to utilize the opportunity of the workshop to cultivate positive attitude and good ethical standards towards enhanced service delivery.

On his part the the Director General of Institute of Political Administration and Management, Ochoho Ameh Paul, assured participants that the workshop has all it takes to positively change the attitudinal behaviours of the Benue State local government workforce.
