Fulani Herdsmen Rape Woman in Benue

One woman has been allegedly raped by suspected herders in Logo Local Government Area of Benue State.
The chairman of Logo, Richard Nyajo, said on Tuesday in Makurdi that the suspected herders attacked Azege village at the early hours of Monday, raped the woman and burnt some houses.

Nyajo said the woman alongside some people injured who were injured are now receiving treatment in the hospital.
He worried that the herders are threatening the peace of the area since the enforcement of the anti-open grazing law came into effect on November 1.
The chairman has also appealed to relevant authorities to deploy soldiers to the hinterland of the council area as the riverine communities are presently insecure.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for Benue Command, Moses Joel Yamu, said he was not yet aware of the development.
