Major Pastoral Reshuffling Hits Makurdi as Catholic Bishop Proceeds for Annual Holiday

The much-anticipated reshuffling in Makurdi Diocese has been carried out. This is coming at the heels of the Bishop’s annual holiday which began this week.
The changes which were released to Catholic Star Newspaper yesterday require Father Moses Iorapuu, the incumbent parish priest of St. Joseph’s Nyiman to relocate to Holy Ghost Parish Makurdi while Father Amos Mbachie gives way to Philip Gbishe as the new Bishop’s Secretary as he departs St. Mark’s Apir to replace Father John Ikponko at St. Theresa’s High Level, Makurdi. Father Anthony Akaatenger takes charge of the newly established Se Sugh Maria Pilgrimage Centre, Ayati as rector while Father Solomon Ukeyima hands over to Father Emmanuel Agbaise at St. Francis’ Daudu to replace the deceased Father Oliver Tarkende at St. Augustine’s Demekpe.
In the Diocesan Curia, Father Jude Ortese, CSSp now occupies the third position in the Diocesan hierarchy as Chancellor, replacing Father John Ikponko who is currently on sabbatical leave. Father Terungwa Tor replaces the age-long Educational Services Director, Father Godwin Udaa while Father John Agbo, OSA is now Vicar Religious with the exit of Father Moses Dzever, CSSp from the office.
Those affected are supposed to report to their new places of assignment on the 20th of October 2017.
