OSUN: Sales girl, 21, docked over N285,000 fraud

A 21-year-old sales girl, Oluwatobi Blessing, was on Thursday arraigned in an Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court over alleged N285,000 fraud.
Blessing is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and theft. The prosecutor, Sgt. Sunday Ajayi, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on Aug. 7, at Akindeko area in Osogbo, the Osun capital.
Ajayi said that the accused conspired with two others now at large to steal N285,000 belonging to one Bunmi Dayo.
He said that the accused was a sales girl working for the complainant and was sent to withdraw the money with an ATM card, which she did, but never delivered the money.
The prosecutor said that the accused lied that she was attacked and dispossessed of the money.
He said that the offences are punishable under Section 390(9) of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol.11, Laws of Osun, 2003.
The defendant denied committing the offences, while the magistrate, Mrs Fatima Sodamade, granted her bail in the sum of N200,000 and one surety in like sum.
The case was adjourned until Sept. 5 for hearing.
