KIDNAPPER ARRESTED WITH 5 CHILDREN IN BENUE, AS TOR LOBI RENOUNCES KIDNAPPING AND TRAFFICKING IN HIS DOMAIN

The Tor Lobi, and chairman lobi intermediate area traditional council, Chief Moses Mfave Anagende has condemned the spate of kidnapping and trafficking of persons particularly children in his domain.
The Tor Lobi gave the condemnation following a reported case of trafficking of five children brought before him by the president of Mzough u Tiv in kwara state, Dr. Amase Nyamngee , in his makurdi Royal resident.
Earlier, Dr.Amase who brought the five children of ages between 7-10 who had been trafficked and sold in kwara state by a relation of the victims, Mr.Tarkunde Nyiku of Keana local government area of nasarawa state.
Narrating the ordeal to the council, Dr. Amase noted "...we came to know about this development when one of the victims, Joy Nyiku was thoroughly beaten by a Yoruba woman to whom joy was sold to..... As she was screaming in Tiv language, one police officer of tiv extraction had the voice and quickly rushed to the scene and rescued her and took her to the President of Mzough U Tiv in kwara state, who interviewed Joy and found out that the were five in the net of traffickers.it was then that the issue was reported to kwara state police headquarters whom the authority had directed that the issue be transferred to Benue state command for further investigation. So I am here as respecter of tradition to bring this to your attention, and here are your children".
In their separate reactions and responses, the Ter Guma Chief Ivokor Unongu , Hon.Boniface Ortese state executive secretary SEMA, the executive chairmen of makurdi and guma local government areas Hon. Anthony Shawon and Mrs Juliana Akange Audu ,Hon.John Enger former commissioner for lands and survey, Barr.Iorwase Ahile president general MINDA development association, and the four' MUE TER' from both guma and makurdi local government areas respectively condemned the attitudes of kidnapers and traffickers and promised to educate parents about the dangers of illegal business particularly as the Benue state governor Dr. Samuel Ortom has recently assented to a Bill prohibiting ,kidnapping and trafficking.
Earlier, the suspected kidnapper Tarkunde Nyiku had tendered apology to the council to be forgiven for his sins haven been subjected to series of questions which he could not satisfactorily answer.
The council unanimously resolved and handed over the victims;

Joy Nyiku, the suspected trafficker Tarkunde Nyiku and the parents of the victims were consequently handed over to National Agency for Prohibition and Trafficking in Persons
