I only need Buhari and Osinbajo to remain in office - Magu blasts Senate

Ibrahim Magu, the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has said he only needs the support of President Muhammadu Buhari and Yemi Osinbajo to remain in his position.
Magu said this on Friday, July 7, 2017 in Kano when he hosted some civil society groups.
Magu had been rejected at least twice by the Senate. The upper legislative chamber has now threatened a face-off with the executive if Magu is not removed immediately.

But the presidency has maintained that it will not send Magu away despite tension being created by the senators.
Magu reportedly said: “We should thus use our greater number to push these minor criminals out of service before they cause serious problems in the country
“My messages to these corrupt persons, hanging around our necks and using all criminal strategies to create disharmony among Nigerians, is that their times are up; this one is a fight to finish.

“What more do we need? I think the backing of the President and his vice is enough for us to win the fight and we shall win it, no doubt about that, the end of this fight is just around the corner.”
The acting chairman lamented that the country was held bound by just about 1000 corrupt Nigerians.
We earlier reported that suspended member of the House of Representatives, Abdulmumin Jibrin, told Acting President Yemi Osinbajo to deal decisively with those trying to cause problems for the government.
Jibrin, who was suspended after claiming that Speaker Yakubu Dogara and principal officers of the House padded the 2016 budget, reminded Osinbajo that he is the acting Commander-In-Chief of the country.
He also gave details of how the acting president should handle the Senate and the House of Representing for allegedly trying to turn the country’s constitution on its head.
