272,818 pupils to benefit from feeding scheme in Benue

NO fewer than 272,818 pupils of primary one to three in Benue State public schools are to be fed under the Home Grown School Feeding Programme of the Federal Government’s Social Investment a project.


This was made known yesterday in Makurdi by the Benue State Focal Person, Social Investment Programme and Senior Special Assistant to the state Governor on Social Investments, 
Mr. Terhide Utaan. Utaan, who explained that the beneficiaries were identified in all public primary schools in the state, explained that N19 million will be expended daily on the feeding programme in the state. 
He said: “That sum translates to N3.8 billion annually. Already we have engaged 4,150 cooks for the implementation of the programme. “We have developed the operational model and the food menu and we are good to go.”
