Children’s Day: PDP tells Nigerian government to provide quality education

As Nigerians join the rest of the world to mark this year’s Children’s Day, the Senator Ahmed Makarfi’s led Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has called on the federal government to provide quality and sustainable education for the Nigerian child.
In a statement by its national publicity secretary, Chinwe I. Nnorom, the party also called on the Federal and the state governments to pay more attention to the plight of children by formulating and implementing policies that will protect their rights, especially, against violence and child trafficking.
The statement said, “Children’s Day is a day set aside to celebrate childhood worldwide from October 1955 when it began under the Sponsorship of the International Union for Child Welfare in Geneva, Switzerland.
“As children in Nigeria marks this auspicious occasion on Saturday, May 27, 2017, we celebrate these leaders of tomorrow; admonish them to obey their parents and teachers, learn to make sacrifices for others, and be of good conduct.‎”
