Executive Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Philip Tachin has charged youths of the MINDA intermediate area to embrace unity of purpose and creativity in order to be relevant in this dispensation and rescue their generation from the shackles of ignorance.

Dr. Tachin gave this relevant counsel when the MINDA Youth Coalition paid him a courtesy call at his Makurdi residence to familiarize with him and seek the way forward for the MINDA community and Benue at large.
The SUBEB Chairman who was full of joy at the visit thanked the group for finding time to come, urging them to develop a development agenda with specific timeline and be creative so as to be useful to themselves and the government of the day, noting that at a time like this, ingenious people were needed to reason outside the box so as to help in salvaging the current economic crunch, adding that their decision to meet with elders of the zone to fine tune the development of the state was the best way to go rather than resorting to abusive statements against the government and her appointees as it has been the manner of some.
Dr. Tachin affirmed that the Ortom administration was truly working within the ambit of the available resources at its disposal to bring succour to the Benue people and should be supported by all who mean well for Benue and sued for understanding, noting that on his part as the Executive Chairman, SUBEB, he was innovative and doing his best to wholesomely overhaul the primary school system in Benue, not just with the rehabilitation of structures but training of staff, setting and achieving high academic standards, as well as providing all relevant equipment that will make elementary learning effective.
Earlier in his address, president of the group, Philip Ankquwa who stated the vision of the coalition noted that they were out to show concern, unite and sensitize the good people of MINDA on the need to bury their differences, close ranks and support their own who holds sway as the executive governor of the state, adding that the success or failure of Governor Samuel Ortom will count for or against the MINDA community, hence, there was every need for people of the zone to wage their support behind him so as to harness the needed dividends of democracy, with lasting legacies.
In their separate speeches, Collins Ahokegh who spoke for Masev, James Gbudu for Ihyarev and Benjamin Dzwa for Nongov all thanked Dr. Tachin for his sterling leadership qualities at SUBEB and applauded the massive school rehabilitation projects that have commenced across the state, as well as blockage of loopholes through which corruption had reared its ugly head at SUBEB in the past, urging him not to rest on his oars with the fairness he has already introduced and always remember to employ and empower youths of MINDA extraction at the slightest opportunity, knowing how backward and underdeveloped the the zone has been over the years.
In his closing remarks, Director, Social Mobilization at SUBEB, Mr. Sylvester Ihyagh expressed confidence in the leadership qualities of Governor Samuel Ortom and Dr. Philip Tachin. He rallied support for their success and cautioned the youth not to take for granted the counsel they have received from the SUBEB boss as he was a man of integrity and ready to make a difference in his assignment.
