Members of the Benue State executive council have inspected ongoing projects in the state and charged contractors to be committed to executing them according to standard specifications.
Special Adviser on Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Alhaji Isa Usman, who gave the charge during the inspection of some projects in Makurdi metropolis in company of Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Tersoo Kpelai, lauded the Contractor, Design Stages, handling the Entrepreneurship Development Centre on the level and quality of work .
He maintained that upon completion of the project, it will be a tourist site that will attract people from all over the country and beyond.
In his remarks, Dr Kpelai assured the contractor that his request for more funds for timely completion will be looked into.
The Adviser and his team also inspected the ongoing work at the new Deputy Governor’s office, the Benue Printing and Publishing Corporation, BPPC, and the Cancer Screening Centre where he advised the contractors to intensify work.
He reiterated the desire of Governor Ortom’s administration to pay contractors who were working as soon as they present their certificates and funds were available.
In their various responses, site engineers of SABC Nigeria Limited, Engr. Babatunde Tiamiyu, handling the new Deputy Governor’s office,  and Engr. Simon Chianson of Capital Project International Limited, in charge of BPPC, assured the team of quality work and early completion.
In a related development, Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development and Cooperatives, Dr Adzer Abya, commended the level of work done by the Contractor constructing the Odugbo bridge in Apa Local Government Area.
Dr Abya who gave the commendation when he led a team of officials from the Bureau expressed happiness that the contractor mobilized to site and and commenced construction immediately after the contract was signed without even collecting the mobilization fees and urged others to emulate the gesture.
While conducting the officials round the site, General Manager of Zaginas Concept Limited, Mr. Ameh Udoh had explained that work was at an advanced stage noting that it was also in line with the specified standards.
Earlier, ward head of Odugbo, Chief Audu Moro, expressed appreciation to the Special Adviser and the team for finding time to inspect the project and commended Governor Samuel Ortom for conceiving the project in order to alleviate the perennial transportation hardship of his people.
The Adviser and his team also visited two other project sites including the construction of a three-span reinforced concrete bridge at Adim Akpa Village in Otukpo where he emphasized the need for speedy completion of the project to ease transportation challenges of the people.
At the electricity project at Jato-Daula village in Gwer, Dr Abya expressed satisfaction with the level and quality of work done by the contractor.
He urged the Jos Electricity Distribution company to take immediate steps to energize the project so as to ensure electricity supply to the community.
