School of Nursing and Midwifery,Makurdi has received equipment worth Millions of Naira from the Benue State Government.
The equipment among which include,sets of Air conditioners of Five Thousand and Two Thousand watts capacity,Desk Top Computers with accessories, Refrigerators,Photocopiers,
Scanners,Projectors and
Plasma Television would be shared in equal proportion to both School of Nursing and Midwifery.
Commissioner for Health and Human Services,Mrs.Cecilia Ojabor accompanied by the Permanent Secretary and the Director of Nursing Services of the Ministry and Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and ICT Tahav Agerzua,today visited the School to inspect the new equipment.
Speaking to Newsmen shortly after the inspection,
the Commissioner said they were procured by the Ortom administration to meet part of the re-accreditation requirements of the School and pointed out that the next phase would be Furniture.
Doctor Ojabor expressed optimism that in no distant time,
the Accreditation Team would be in the School for the exercise as the State Government on its part was doing all that was required to meet such expectation.
Also speaking,the Director of Nursing Services,State Ministry of Health and Human Services,Mrs.Rose Adole expressed happiness with steps taken by the State Government to upgrade the School that had been neglected for years with a view to making it functional again.
The Principal,School of Nursing,Mrs.Pauline Atser told Newsmen that the School had received quality equipment from the State government preparatory to re-accreditation of courses and appealed that they be more secured against vandalism.
On her part,the Principal,School of Midwifery,Mrs.Victoria Gusa prayed to God to grant the Ortom administration the enablement to sustain the good work it was doing in areas of critical needs especially the education sub-sector.
Meanwhile,work on the entire renovation of the School has almost been completed.
