Benue State Governor, Samuel Ioraer Ortom marks his 55th birthday today.
Born on 23rd April, 1961 in Guma local government area of Benue State, Ortom rose through the ranks to the higher echelons of Nigerian politics.
In 1992, at age 31, he was elected the Chairman of his local government area. After holding several party positions in the state, he was appointed Minister of Trade and Investment under immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.
On April 11, 2015, he contested and won the Benue gubernatorial elections to become the fifth civilian, democratically elected Governor of the state.
He is also the proprietor and chairman, Oracle Business Limited, the firm that runs Goshen Water, Oracle Oil Mills, Oracle Printing Press, Oracle Farms Limited, Capital Prints Limited, Achive Engineering Limited to mention but a few.
Governor Ortom will celebrate his birthday in faraway China where he has been all week long on a business visit.
