Stakeholders from Konshisha local government area of Benue State today set aside their differences and presented unanimously a caretaker chairmanship nominee to Governor Samuel Ortom.

The nominated caretaker chairman is Mr. Barnabas Mbatyavwase Achagh.

The Konshisha stakeholders made the presentation during a meeting with Governor Ortom at the Benue Peoples House, Makurdi.

Among those present were the member representing Konshisha state constituency, Hon. Richard Ujege, Special Adviser to the Governor on political affairs, Hon. Saawuan Tarnongu, former Chairman of Konshisha, Chief Mike Atumba Shima and former Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Hon. Clement Adzuanongu.

Responding, Governor Ortom said the delay in the appointment of a caretaker chairman for Konshisha was caused by disagreements among stakeholders from the area.

He assured the people of Konshisha that the name of the chairmanship nominee, Mr. Mbatyavwase Achagh, would be sent to the State House of Assembly for screening, restating the commitment of his administration to conduct local government polls soon to deepen democracy at the third tier of government.
