Her Excellency, Dr. Mrs. Eunice Ortom, today, had fruitful interaction with National Officials of Bank of Agriculture, led by the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Prof. Danbala Danju and the Central Zonal Head, Dr. Abu; Mr. Agema, Makurdi Branch Manager and the Facilitator, Mrs. Esther Aina following several intervention correspondences between the Wife of the Governor and the Bank for intervention in Agriculture for Benue Women.
Her Excellency stated, inter alia, that "with the intervention of BOA, it is my sincere hope that women will contribute immensely in the diversification of the economy through Agriculture, which Benue has comparative and competitive advantage."
Stressing further that "I also have interest in collaboration with you, giving the fact that you are professional in Agric-financing, I need you people to assist our women in microcredit schemes to engender agribusiness."

The BOA promised to offer both material and human capital support to Benue State to boost Agribusiness to key into the Agriculture - Driven Industrialization Policy of the Ortom Administration.
Dr. Mrs. Ortom reiterated that "Issues of post harvest wastages or losses need critical intervention for women in Benue, particularly the aspect of processing, marketing and storage. Food Safety and Hygiene workshop which I have undertaken by the ample support of His Excellency, Samuel Ortom, and am glad to inform you that about 400 women were trained and certified, these women need micro credits to put the potency of their knowledge to practice, most of them are food vendors and have indeed employed a good number of staff in a cottage style arrangement. We should also have a farmers market in Benue, clearly dedicated to the sale of farm produce.
The MD/CEO of BOA on behalf the Bank, promised to Inculcate into women, banking habits to save their business money away from home expenditure for their business to grow. He emphasized that with the Minister of Agriculture from Benue, and Benue being the Food Basket of the Nation coupled with the enthusiasm of the Governor and his Wife, the Bank of Agriculture has therefore taken Benue as one of the focal areas of interest.
