Petronas emerges as Top 2 List of Best Companies to Work for in Malaysia

PETRONAS retains the lead for two consecutive years as the Top 2 companies Malaysians most want to work for, based on a report by Jobstreet.com. JobStreet said the result is based on a survey involving 10,241 Malaysians across all position levels which aimed to determine what the majority of professionals deem as the best company to work for.
As a global energy player, PETRONAS offers opportunities all over the world. It workforce covers more than 30 countries and recognise that its people are the key to their successful and rapid growth around the world.
PETRONAS was ranked among the Top 5 Best Companies for Leadership in Asia by Hay Group in 2013. The company invest heavily in recruiting and maintaining a talented workforce to nurture and develop its people so they can make a difference in the industry and communities.
Completing the top 10 list in order of ranking is Maybank, Nestle Malaysia, Intel Malaysia, Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) and Eco World Development Group Bhd.
According to the survey, Malaysians prioritise career development opportunities, citing it as the main reason they would want to work with top companies.
“This was followed by benefits and incentives, while salary is stated as the third top reason, indicating that monetary compensation remains an important consideration across all position levels,” said JobStreet.
JobStreet.com Malaysia and Singapore Country Manager Chook Yuh Yng said in the new economy, it would take more than financial benefits or incentives to attract talent. “Today, companies need to compete for talent through strategic and unique approaches to differentiate themselves from their competitors,” said Chook.
