Read what Benue legislators are doing because of EFCC

Members of the Benue State House of Assembly now shun their office and counterparts who are placed under watch by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Many of the state’s legislators, including principal officers, were recently interrogated by the EFCC, in Abuja, over alleged N750, 000 messy car deals.
The lawmakers apparently now abandoned their office for their supporting members of staff, who were seen either chatting in groups or watching television.
Efforts to speak with some of the legislators through their telephone lines were not successful as the calls where left unanswered, while text messages were not replied.
The speaker of the Assembly, Terkimbi Ikyange, who was granted bail, weekend, after his interrogation by the EFCC, was sighted in Makurdi, yesterday, but he refused to comment on the matter.
The deputy speaker, James Okefe, and, at least, 15 legislators were believed to have been detained by the EFCC.
However, the chief press secretary to the speaker, Bem Abunde, said that the Assembly complex was undergoing renovation and that his boss would comment on the alleged interrogation of lawmakers by the EFCC soon.
…Group vows to occupy EFCC over ‘stolen funds’
A group, Benue State Youth Movement for Good Governance (BYMGG), has threatened to occupy the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), today, over alleged stealing of N107bn by the immediate past administration of the state.
The group had earlier issued a 72-hour ultimatum to the anti-graft agency to prosecute 52 people, including a former governor of the state, Gabriel Suswam, who were reportedly indicted by the Justice Elizabeth Kpojime-led commission for allegedly misappropriating money belonging to the state.
The National President of BYMGG, Comrade Terrence Kwuanum, speaking in Makurdi, yesterday, said that the body would mobilise people to occupy the EFCC after the expiration of the ultimatum given to it to commence prosecution of the indicted persons.
