Gov Ortom Mourns Bishop Osuh, As Fr Adeyi’s Remains Is Buried

The vicar general of the Catholic Diocese of Otukpo in Benue State, Rev Fr. John Adeyi who was kidnapped and his body later fonund in a bush has been buried.
The late Adeyi was abducted by unknown gunmen in April, 2016 at Otukpa area of Ogbadibo local government area of the state. His body was dumped by the abductors behind the local government secretariat in the area.

The remains of the deceased priest was deposited at the St. Vincent Hospital mortuary in Aliade town of Gwer East local government area of the state. The body was removed for an all night wake which was held at the St. Francis Cathedral in Otukpo town of Otukpo LGA of the state.
At the St. Francis Catholic Cathedral in Otukpo yesterday,  thousands of catholic faithfuls including reverend fathers, sisters, men and women, as well as youths and leaders of traditional institutions converged in the church yard to pay their last respect for the deceased priest.
Some of the sympathizers who attended the burial described Adeyi as a man of God who was very humble and committed to alleviating the poverty stricken condition of the downtrodden.
Preaching at the burial, Bishop of Otukp Diocese, Most Rev. Micheal Apochi said the demise of the vicar general was a monumental loss to the development of the diocese. He prayed for the soul of the deceased priest to rest in peace.
Meanwhile, Benue State governor, Samuel Ortom has described as a colossal loss to the entire Christian community, the state and the country at large, the death of the Bishop Emeritus of Makurdi Diocese, Most Reverend Bishop Athanasius Atule Usuh.
