The Benue state Governor, Samuel Ortom has assured indigenes of the state that attacks by Fulani herdsmen will soon be a thing of the past. The Governor said the ‘Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Bill’, when passed into law by the state House of Assembly, will put an end to the incessant clashes. Ortom also frowned at reports that said he denied that Fulani herdsmen killed people in Benue. The Governor said the media misquoted his comments. Speaking through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Terver Akase, Ortom said he only said the people killed were not up to 200. The Benue Governor also prayed for the family of those that lost their lives during the deadly attacks.
