The alleged killing of a security aide identified as Okocha Emmanuel, in Ubulu-Uku community, Aniocha south local government area of Delta State, yesterday sparked off protest among the indigenes.
Emmanuel Okocha, 52 years old, was allegedly murdered in cold blood by unidentified gunmen last Monday night at the country home of a prominent indigene of Ubulu-Uku community,one Emeka Okwudishu, who had been away for several months.
It was gathered family members of Okwudishu were shocked to discover the body of the security aide who had served him for several years, allegedly slaughtered and dumped in the local water storage tank in the premises.
While alleging increasing rate of kidnapping and cold-blooded killing of the paramount ruler of the kingdom, Obi Ofulue Akaeze II, by unknown persons, the concerned indigenes called on the state and federal governments to urgently come to their aid.
Police image maker in the state, Mrs Celestina Kalu, who confirmed the incident, however said that investigation into the alleged murder was on going.
