Benue PDP crisis deepens as Abu Shuluwa doubts party’s victory in 2019 says PDP leadership is operating like a sheep without shepherds.

The crisis rocking the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), at the national level has finally crippled the party’s structures in Benue State tearing it into factions.
It was observed that since the conduct of the 2015 general election, which saw the PDP lose to the governing All Progressive Congress (APC), the party has not known peace, as major stakeholders that laid its foundation in the state have been sidelined and inexperienced hands handpicked as part of strategies by the players to continue to perpetuate themselves in the party’s leadership.
Major stakeholders have been yearning for an expanded meeting where the cankerworm destroying the party would be killed, but to no avail as the crisis continues to deepen.

The crisis also metamorphosed into massive defection of PDP staunch members including its deputy chairman, secretary, organising secretary, the youth leader and other executive council members to the APC.
The factions cut across the three senatorial districts of the state.
One of the aggrieved members and Deputy Chairman of PDP Elders Forum, Chief Abu King Shuluwa, said Sunday that since the party lost out woefully in the 2015 general elections, its leadership has been operating like sheep without shepherds with no effort being made to settle scores and reposition it ahead of future elections.
Chief Shuluwa opined emphatically that the PDP in the state was heading for doom and will lose to the ruling APC again in 2019 if it fails to put its house in order.
