Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has expressed his willingness to be probed by his successor after the expiration of his tenure.
The Governor spoke on the backdrop of his probe of Ex-Governor Gabriel Suswam’s administration in which he, along with 51 persons, were found to have stolen N107bn belonging to the state, and asked to refund or face prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
According to Ortom, as he made efforts to recover funds stolen from the state, accountability will remain the hallmark of his administration.
“I swore to be transparent and on that pledge I stand. We are committed to seeing that all looted funds are recovered. I am also ready to be probed after my tenure.” He stressed.
He added that assets fraudulently acquired by those trusted with public offices in the past administration will also be confiscated.
