Crisis rock Benue APC as party chairman, Abba Yaro fights member

The current political crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Benue State took a new dimension on Monday as the state chairman of the party, Abba Yaro and his party member Noah McDickson allegedly clashed during a meeting.
It was gathered that Yaro attacked McDickson for projecting the Benue APC Elders’ Forum and for reportedly working against the APC.
Confirming the development to DAILY POST on phone, McDickson said the timely intervention of some APC leaders, including Chief Nelson Alapa, saved him from being lynched by some persons loyal to Yaro.
The party chieftain stated that the problem ensued at the Government House, Makurdi during a meeting of APC leaders.
According to McDickson, “when the state chairman sighted me, he ordered security men on ground to throw me out.”
“The timely intervention of Chief Nelson Alapa and other members of the APC saved me from being lynched by the thugs. I was being pushed and beaten like a small boy,” he claimed.
Asked why he was assaulted, the party chieftain said some persons were accusing him of indulging in anti-party activities by promoting the Benue APC Elders’ Forum.
“You could recall that I was recently suspended on the ground that I worked against the party at the just concluded rerun in Benue South. It is laughable because I was not even on ground during the rerun, I wonder how I was able to work against our party.
“If you noticed that I involved in anti-party activities, why didn’t you set up a disciplinary committee to investigate the claim, instead of chasing me up and down?” McDickson queried.
Meanwhile, several calls to Yaro to get his own side of the story could not yield any fruit, just as text message to his phone was not responded
