The trial of the alleged false asset declaration for Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki has been put on hold.
Kanu Agabi who is the counsel to the senate president made it known to the tribunal that he has a motion which challenges the jurisdiction of the tribunal at the resumed hearing of the suit.
As regards to the motion, the Senate President is making an argument that the Attorney -General of the Federation cannot punish him.
While giving his reaction to the information, Mr Rotimi Jacobs who is a counsel to the federal government, made it known to the court the move is one their tactics and also an attempt to spoil the trial.
He further told the court to disregard the issue and go straight to the main business of the day because he was ready for trial with his witnesses and the evidence in tribunal.
Also, Mr Agabi made it known again to the tribunal that his application is a matter of law which must be settled before trial can start.
The Chairman of the tribunal having listened to both parties, adjourned the trial to the 18th of March, so as to hear the motion and start with the trial also.
