Children at the TIVID Orphanage, yesterday conducted a protest against the incessant killings by Fulani herdsmen across Benue State.
The children, some of whose parents were killed by Fulani herdsmen attacks in the past, led a procession within the metropolis of Makurdi the state capital, carrying placards with inscriptions of messages expressing their displeasure with the continuous carnage.
Speaking to Benueforum.com, the Proprietor of the Orphanage, Miss Favour-Enewa Adah called on the Government to resolve the crisis urgently.
“They (government) really needs to do something because if this spreads into the city, it will not be palatable at all.
” They should go beyond their limits to do something because they have children like us and they won’t allow such things to happen to them.
“The pictures we’ve been seeing are not good. We are not cows or goats, we are humans. The government should look into this issue carefully and resolve it.
” We don’t want these people around us anymore because you can’t have a stranger in your house to overcome you. A stranger becoming a boss in the house is not possible. They have overstayed their welcome. We don’t even want their relationship for now until we have our peace back. They should let us be. “
