Results so far indicate that People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Senator David Mark is leading.

Aside from Oju, Obi and pockets of polling stations in Ogbadibo LGA, Mark Is reported to be leading his opponent, Comrade Daniel Onjeh of the All Progressives Congress (APC)

PDP raises alarm that the APC plots to manipulate election result as David Mark takes lead
State chairman of the PDP Dr Emmanuel Agbo  said the APC  has hijacked the results from the polling units  in Ogbadibo local government area and  have refused to hand over to the collation officers.

OTUKPO LGA

Another person shot by thugs in Upu Otukpo LGA , we are yet to know his political party as both APC and PDP are claiming he belongs to them.

At the collation centre, Otukpo LGA Secretariat.
Although there are no “10 armoured tankers with fully armed soldiers” at the gate contrary to the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Istifanus Dafwang’s yesterday’s vow; yet, this place is firmly guarded by soldiers, mobile police officers and Civil Defence details.
There are four security checks before anybody can enter the collation hall.
Results from Otukpo LGA are currently being processed by INEC officials.
It can not confirmed if any other LGA has arrived.
Collation of wards’ results at LGAs are still on going, an INEC official has said, saying there may be delay before general collation starts.

David Mark leads with over 4,000 votes in 17 wards
Former President of the Senate and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the Benue South Senatorial District, David Mark, is in a comfortable lead according to available unofficial results. The results from some of the wards shown that the senator is leading his main challenger, Daniel Onjeh of the All Progressives Congress, APC by 4333 votes . From the seventeen wards available, Mark polled  11,737 votes while Onjeh earned 7,404 votes. The election was conducted in 102 wards in nine local government areas of the Senatorial District. Please note that these results are yet to be confirmed by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, the only body recognised by law to declare election result.

CRISES
Benue state deputy governors Engr. Benson Abounu country home of Otukpo-incho under heavy attack by suspected PDP thugs at the moment five persons are seriously wounded and are rushed to the near by hospital for medical treatment, according to our reporter, the PDP suspected that there the APC are rigging election in the deputy gov's house.

Apart from Otukpo LGA results, no other LGA has returned to INEC general collation centre with results.

Security officials have begun to groan at the delay in commencement of the collation exercise.

“We go spend the night here o,” one Police officer said, and was answered by his visibly tired colleague who replied, “And we never eat.”

Now, as security officials who will protect all of us are groaning and hungry, INEC officials are being served food.
Earlier, as voting was going on at Otukpo Town Central ward, a Civil Defence officer had approached our Reporter. “I was told you money will be brought to us on the field (in the course of work) but we are yet to see anything. So I see you now, I hope you have brought the money,” the officer said pitifully. He had mistaken the Reporter who wore INEC apron marked “Election Duty” for an INEC staff sent to bring money for the officers. INEC apron is same for Journalists, observers and most of its staff.
However, when our correspondent visited INEC office at Otukpo to ask questions relating to the collation exercise, the Electoral Officer was seen giving out naira notes in N1000 denomination in about four wrappers to two officials, obviously top ranked officers, of the Civil Defence.
We, however, do not know if the money was allowed to trickle down to the roots.

Apart from Otukpo LGA results, no other LGA has returned to INEC general collation centre with results yet...
